Along with our women empowerment project, we would like to work on educating our women in our groups as well their husbands, brothers, uncles, whoever would like to partake in educational experiences! We believe you are never too old to learn!
Although this will not be a formal education and will provide credits of schooling to go toward a college or University, we would like to help educate the adult population that have fallen through the cracks of the education system.
Our idea is to set up outdoor classrooms where we can teach the education basics or reading and writing and some general education such as history, math, science and so on.
In Uganda, English is the national language. However, every tribe has its own language and then within those are varying districts with a different tongue and then even different dialects within that. Everyone speaks something and our idea is that if we help them learn the basics of English, they can be a part of the universal communication and that will help them in their business and trades.
We have some adults in our projects that are school teachers for students that have welcomed the idea of helping their neighbors become educated members of society.
