When BFoH was first created, the idea was to work solely with orphaned children. However, after my last trip to Kibaale, Uganda, I soon found out there was more work to be done than simply building a place for a hundred or so unwanted children. We took a step back to look at the big picture and set out on a mission to find out the source of the problems and ways to improve them. For about 5 weeks, we traveled around Kibaale, interviewing everyone from the mayor to the shopkeeper and farmers to get their opinion. We identified what we all think to be the most prevalent issues facing the people of Kibaale and have created programs to address and work with each one.
